Summary
Entrepreneurial Full Stack Engineer with comprehensive expertise in technologies including Python, Node.js, TypeScript, React, Flutter, Docker & Kubernetes, and, in recent years, applied AI: RAG, agentic systems and LLM products running in production for Danish municipalities. Bjørn's career spans early-stage startups, Denmark's biggest law firms, and mission-driven organisations such as the UN Global Compact networks and the Danish public sector.
Bjørn is driven by building technology that makes a tangible difference: AI that lets municipal employees spend their time on people rather than paperwork, digital forensics and eDiscovery tools that help law firms uncover fraud and financial crime, emission reporting that helps companies act on their climate footprint (EU CSRD), and platforms that help the UN's Global Compact networks advance responsible business.
Recent key projects
-
1. AI Platform & Portal, Kalundborg Kommune (Mar 2025 - present)
- I am helping Kalundborg Kommune design, build and operate their AI platform: a portal where employees access chatbots, agentic AI tools, an interpreter/translation solution, document templates and intelligent search, all sharing one design system and single sign-on, so many separate applications feel like one coherent product. I designed and built the portal's UX and front end as well as most of the underlying services.
- The solutions primarily use models from Azure OpenAI, enriched with internal data through Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic patterns (MCP, LangGraph), and we also host open-source models from Huggingface. I am responsible for security and identity (SSO/OIDC), server setup and cloud environments (Docker, Caddy), and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
- We mainly build in-house tools for Kalundborg Kommune, but some are shared between 10-12 different municipalities, ranging from tools for legal work, interpreters and document templates to data processing and agentic AI.

2. AI Anchoring & Governance, Gentofte Kommune (Nov 2025 - present)
- I am helping Gentofte Kommune anchor AI in the organisation: advising on and co-developing the municipality's AI guidelines and governance, evaluating concrete use cases, and supporting adoption among employees. On the technical side, I deploy AI models in the municipality's own Azure environment and integrate them with their Microsoft 365 landscape, including SharePoint.
- The role is more strategic and advisory than my other engagements: setting a realistic direction for AI, navigating the regulatory landscape (GDPR, the EU AI Act, Schrems II and data residency), and translating what the technology can deliver into decisions that management and employees can act on.

3. Sustainability Reporting Platform, EnergiData A/S (May 2024 - Mar 2025)
- At EnergiData (OK A/S), a company dedicated to energy management software, my primary focus was enhancing their MinEnergi2 platform to comply with the latest EU CSR directives, related to energy consumption and emission reporting. The new features enable companies to track their Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3, and out-of-scope emissions, set new emission targets, and monitor their progress.
- Designing and implementing a new backend service, integrating both legacy and new databases, along with comprehensive software testing.
- Establishing a new AWS infrastructure using a serverless approach (including security, access policies etc).
- The biggest part of the solution is an algorithm that utilizes emission factors across different emission types, within all possible time periods, inheritable across buildings, areas, companies, and countries, measuring CO2-equivalent consumption for each meter type, where EnergiData can expose some emission-factors on each level, and the user can customize their own - all displayed in graphs that can be sorted by Greenhouse gas protocols, emission types, meter types and more.
- Implementing features like export data, emission report, audit trail and more for auditing purposes.

4. Website, CMS, BI, analytics, UN's Global Compact DK (Jan 2023 - present)
- Pioneering the development of a dynamic and responsive website, managed by a completely custom-built CMS. After the Danish site launched, other country networks reached out, and the platform has evolved into a shared solution that other UN networks now use as well, starting with the Netherlands (since June 2025), which I also maintain.
- I typically work from the customer's office 1x a week while working closely with their communications team and their end users to get the best possible result.
- The project has slowly evolved from a website and CMS to helping them with business intelligence and analytics with custom integrations and dashboards.

5. Hydra Lab, Data Discovery Lab ApS (Jul 2022 - Feb 2024)
- Built a workflow app for data collection and analysis in the legal industry. Our platform was adopted by top law firms in Denmark, including Kammeradvokaten, Mortang Advokater, Bech-Bruun, and PLESNER. My team built everything from scratch, including architecture, design, programming, product features and more, in an agile environment where we iterate and prioritize features every other week.
- My role was leading my team of developers and freelancers, as well as coding proof of concepts for the AI and Machine Learning aspects of the application using tensorflow and elasticsearch, including monitoring, consuming various APIs, integrating open source models from huggingface or github in docker environments, and more.
- We also developed a custom solution for Mortang Advokater and Danske Bank, featuring a mathematical model to calculate interest on historical loans. This model considers principal amounts and changes in interest rates over time, enabling lawyers to track and analyze old, switched, or defaulted loans.
- High focus on keeping all data and processing in our own custom Kubernetes & Docker cloud setup, hosted in the EU, in line with the Schrems II ruling and out of reach of the U.S. CLOUD Act.

6. Wholesale platform, Andersen & Maillard (June 2021 - present)
- The A&M Wholesale platform is used for selling bread and other baked goods throughout Copenhagen in wholesale, and offers modules for predicting how much needs to be made, order flows, drivers app, label printers and an admin dashboard. The whole system is tightly integrated with e-conomic.
- I entered this project after it was already built in Vue, and have helped maintain it since then. Since I joined, we have done a number of improvements - we remade the whole app into Flutter, built a specific driver's app that ensures packaging is returned, and built a printer app for printing labels. Currently I am just helping maintain it, a few hours a month.
